Description
This PAIR of chairs sold for $695 THE PAIR back in 2008. (About $350 each.) These days in 2019 if I got the exact same pair of chairs I’d price them at about $770 THE PAIR. PAIRS in this style are hard to get and highly sought after.
Background Info and Provenance
A stunning PAIR of vintage DANISH dining chairs (circa late 1960’s) that would match in well with any Parker, TH Brown & Sons or Moderntone dining chairs of the same era. In my opinion these are Danish- several characteristics point towards them being Scandinavian. They have a strong Kai Kristiansen essence. What’s unquestionable though is the stunning design- a thoughtful blend of sculptural elegance and subtle points of interest. The style is perfect to match in with any Danish/inspired dining chairs. (See the photo included.) The frames are Beech and have been stained to look like teak which means that the colour is a good match for many chairs of the era. They are also comfortable- the curve and angle of the back is spot-on so they could also be used as a desk chair at home or an extra pair in an office where style and sophistication is important. To cap it off, the pair is well-built and were certainly made to last- look at them after 40 years! (This listing is for the PAIR of chairs shown in most photos- anything else shown in the minority of photos are included for display only and not included.)
