A set of SIX DANISH-STYLE dining chairs with a sleek, refined style. I haven’t stocked a set a six dining chairs in this style in a while- why?- I just can’t find good sets of six at the moment. These were done by CHISWELL in 1971 (there’s a stamp with 10/71 on most chairs- I read this as Oct. 1971). These are the only CHISWELL dining chairs I will stock and in this design I will only stock them in black or cream vinyl. I really like the design- it is clean and tidy and has the understated elegance of Danish furniture. I like the buttons too- a quirky design feature of the early 1970’s but not “over the top”.

The other reason I like them is because of the EXPERT craftsmanship qualities they display. Every chair is very solid and sturdy with no visible screws. The black vinyl upholstery that’s overall in excellent condition adds a contemporary but timeless touch to this classic set of chairs. With a starting price of $139 each, the average timber chair usually costs over $200 in the furniture chain stores but they look nothing like these- these chairs have been beautifully finished and boast superior construction qualities and DURABILITY. Buying new only encourages further deforestation and when you don’t know the construction quality, how long will it be before they end up as landfill? Sets of 6 from this era are well-built- proof is in the condition of this suite after over 40 years of use. Sets of 6 vintage chairs with this level of appeal are only getting harder to get which strengthens your investment. THE PICTURED TABLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS LISTING PRICE. This set of SIX dining chairs are all in solid sturdy condition. These chairs show the superior workmanship for which the CHISWELL brand is renowned- Chiswell pieces are respected for construction qualities parallel to Parker Furniture. All 6 chairs are in excellent condition. All six have no structural breaks and are all very sturdy chairs. The timber frames are in excellent condition for their age with only a few minor marks to the timber but nothing that’s noticeable. The vinyl is overall in excellent condition- re-upholstery of these chairs in black vinyl would cost about $130 a chair and the current condition of the vinyl is great (as shown in the photos). Two chairs have a one or two very minor splits but these are not noticeable. See the close-up photo- the photos depict the condition of the vinyl fairly and accurately. One carver chair has sagging webbing- the chair is very comfortable as is so I saw no reason to have this replaced. This could be done by us for an additional $60 upon request from the buyer. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The chairs have a total height of 76cm with a seat height of 45cm. They measure 50cm across by 46cm back.
