Brass Buddha Head (two available- priced SEPARATELY definitely vintage / antique and definitely done by HAND- each is the same but when you look closely there are many notable differences. It’s obvious the face has been carved and hand-scribed (the eyes, nose and mouth have definitely been done BY HAND- $46 each. These have been skillfully and beautifully done. Beautiful AUTHENTIC vintage patina (aging). The cheap Chinese ones have had black paint added at a stage of the process to make them look older- these are authentic vintage pieces.
Additional Background Info and Provenance
The thing I love most about these pieces is the auspicious nature. They are calming and centering to have around because they have been used as a meditation deities for years. They’ve got great prana (life-energy) too because the mould and most of the details were all done by hand. They are a high-quality pieces with beautiful detailing and I see them lasting forever. Even the hair on each is noticeably different- no two of these would be alike.
Why buy something mass-produced by machines, made from toxic chemical resins when antique metal pieces look at least as good and have character the new ones will never have? (The resin ones are susceptible to breaks and chips and ending up as landfill- to me it makes no sense having them made.) When you invest in antique items for your home you have the bonus of owing a piece with investment appeal (this piece should NOT lose any value in the future). I did extensive research online before listing it. I could see NONE others worldwide that came close to resembling this one. Various comparable antique deities are around $550-$1200- this one is by far the cheapest offering of a comparable item worldwide that I could find. Investment appeal aside by “recycling” antique treasures you’re reducing your carbon footprint.

Both of these metal sculptures (I’ve been told they're brass) are in excellent condition with no damage to report. These are ANTIQUE (or vintage) pieces - I’d say close to 100 years old ? They definitely have age to them- NOT NEW. Both have been beautifully HAND-crafted. I was told early to mid 1900's when I bought them- they both have authentic antique patina. The patina is natural and authentic unlike the simulated patina you sometimes see on new deities coming out of China these days. With the millions of cardboard boxes that end up as landfill every year we don’t believe in supporting the manufacture of boxes for post. Instead of buying new boxes and packing materials and passing this cost onto our customers we spend considerable time sourcing used boxes and then fashioning boxes to fit each item. We do the same for bubble-wrap and foam pieces. This requires a large investment of time, energy, ingenuity, organization and storage space- it is much easier and cheaper to buy new packing materials but I can’t justify taking the easy way out when so much packing material ends up polluting our earth. Our $3.00 charge does little to pay for the time (and storage) needed do this and to pack your item (there is also the time needed to get your package to the post office). This is something we’re happy to do for our customers and the environment. We appreciate your support in this area.
