Background Info and Provenance
A HAND-MADE vase with the Robert Wynne “Denzien” Pontil stamp. ‘Denizen’ is the glass studio Wynne set-up in Manly, Sydney in 1990. Wynne is considered an Australian pioneer of studio art glass and his pieces are represented in Australia and internationally. I’ve seen several of Wynne’s pieces on ebay in America priced at $2000. I have also seen a piece of his work (similar to this) bid up to over $2000 at Shapiros auctions a few years back. The piece on offer in this listing is mesmerizing in the way light catches it. The form is just as captivating. It’s an expert piece of art (obviously of gallery standard) displaying an outstanding level of technical and creative skill. Wynne has won many awards for his art glass both in Australia and abroad.
I would date this piece to the early 1990’s. I have another Wynne piece in my own collection that’s dated 1990- this piece is similar in style.
Wynne’s work is highly collectable- not just in Australia but on an international platform and he is considered one of Australia’s best glass artists by many glass collectors. To me this is a real piece of art- it’s expressive and has a “flow” that’s not often seen in art glass these days. Google, Robert Wynne glass and if you dig a little you’ll see some amazing pieces of work by this talented artist. This hand-made piece of art is certainly one to be passed from one generation to the next. There are very few better ways to invest in your home and our environment.

This vintage piece is in excellent condition for its age with no damage to report at all. NO cracks, NO chips, NO repairs. It has a few very minor signs of use but nothing that’s noticed or affects the display of the piece. This item measures 14cm across at its widest and is about 10.5cm high. PICK-UP . . . from 30 or 40 minutes North of BRISBANE city is accepted but postage is preferred as my home is hard to find. Because of this I will nominate a friend or family member for you to collect the item from if you need collection. With the millions of cardboard boxes that end up as landfill every year we don’t believe in supporting the manufacture of boxes for post. Instead of buying new boxes and packing materials and passing this cost onto our customers we spend considerable time sourcing used boxes and then fashioning boxes to fit each item. We do the same for bubble-wrap and foam pieces. This requires a large investment of time, energy, ingenuity, organization and storage space- it is much easier and cheaper to buy new packing materials but I can’t justify taking the easy way out when so much packing material ends up polluting our earth. Our $3.00 charge does little to pay for the time (and storage) needed do this and to pack your item (there is also the time needed to get your package to the post office). This is something we’re happy to do for our customers and the environment. We appreciate your support in this area.
We accept DIRECT BANK DEPOSIT. We send photographic ID of the store owner (Michael Grealy) to all customers at the point of sale, along with media articles about iNVISeDGE with photos of Michael Grealy in them (most of these articles are about 10 years old).
