Description
Pricing for this highly-unusual modular suite … OFFERS OVER $300 PER boxy piece, $350 for each CURVED piece (with 2 unfinished ends) or $400 for each CURVED piece (with a FINISHED end). We have 6 CURVED pieces all up (2 with a right-hand finished end, 2 with a left), 2 curved pieces with an unfinished end PLUS 6 chair sections that are NOT curved. (The boxy pieces are different sizes 48cm through to 61.5cm for extra practicality with placement (they all look very similar in size though). Prices for a full modular unit depend on how many pieces you want and what pieces we’ll be left with. There are an additional 2 curved pieces (both with a finished end- one left, one right) plus 2 chair sections (NOT curved) that have not been photographed). If you want a HUGE suite, (bigger than what’s photographed), it’s possible!
These pieces would be perfect in a dining nook. Super comfortable as dining furniture- it’s a really cool, stylish look around a dining table. (I’ll need to do a photo to show you.) Alternatively, it would also be good to use as an occasional lounge for your second lounge room or as a waiting lounge in a commercial space. It’s more “sitting furniture” rather than lounging furniture that you “sloth” all over. You sit more upright in this furniture (like you do when you’re sitting at the dining table). The real advantage here is the modular form which allows a lot of scope to change the size and configuration if your needs constantly change or you need a change after you move premises or house. (Also, it’s very easy to move- one person can easily move this suite.) IMPORTANT NOTE- The suite is more made for a dining situation- the proportions are for dining. You sit more upright in this suite, like you need to when you’re at the dining table. It’s supremely comfortable for dining furniture though because it’s all padded and the back is high for dining furniture so it supports all your shoulders and your full back.
LOCATION- the iNVISeDGE depot in Morayfield, BRISBANE Northside.
Provenance & Background Information
(Written in 2023).
Clearly one of the most interesting designs I’ve come across in over 20 years of trading, this modular suite takes dining furniture to a whole new level. Imagine having your own dining booth at home! And whenever you move house, you’ll always create the perfect configuration for this suite because of the modular form (and because the boxy pieces are all a different width- they look similar in size though). I love the nougat colour- it’s warm and inviting in looks but also fresh and “contemporary” PLUS this FULL-GRAIN leather is so practical- so easy to look after and keep clean. The other thing I love is its curvilinear form. The arcs are pleasing on the eye- no harsh edges or boxy shapes here. Curves like this in dining furniture is virtually never seen- this is the first time I’ve ever come across a suite like this.
It’s also not big and bulky in looks- it has the elegance of Danish furniture- there’s a real refined elegance here because of the curves. Which leads me to the provenance of this suite. When I bought it I was told it was Danish- it’s definitely not Australian- you won’t see anything like this again in Australia. It came off a shipment of vintage furniture from Denmark (bought in by Grandfather’s Axe of Melbourne). It may have been created in another European country though. No-one would be entirely sure. It definitely has some age to it though, because this is SECOND-GENERATION upholstery. It was upholstered in a textile fabric previously- I much prefer the leather though. (Using leather allowed a light colour to be used which also helps create the minimalist look).
This design ticks EVERY box and resoundingly so- PLUS it’s a very astute investment. Vintage design constantly appreciates in value (if you buy right)- it’s a win/win for everybody… for you, our environment and our local community (ALL iNVISeDGE staff and support businesses are 100% LOCAL). There’s no better way I can think of to invest in your home and the future of our environment (whenever you invest in vintage furniture, you’re doing your part to reduce future landfill).
