NOTE- NO veneer has been used in this piece at all- ALL SOLID timber with a quality vinyl top (which is original). This piece is about 80 years old and because of the good-ol’ fashioning construction quality (including hand-crafted dove-tail drawers) this piece is solid, strong and heavy. If it’s moved with any sense it will last forever.
GREAT SIZE! Good MEDIUM size. (122cm x 76cm height- 76cm). The perfect amount of desk space in my eyes but not too big. (Good for a small room). I love the old ink wells or areas to hold coins. The previous custodians bought it from a bank a long, long time ago! (Clearance for a chair- 67.5cm height – 77cm across for a chair).
I love the colouring of the timber- a nice light tone. The piece looks clean, fresh and minimalist and I love the original vinyl top. It has heaps of very small signs of use but nothing that draws your eye. This piece has the vintage patina you’d expect of a piece that’s about 80 years old but NO unsightly damage at all. (It has been very well looked-after.) I also love the colour of the vinyl top- modernist and minimalist in tone. A dark colour would have spoiled the fresh look.

PLEASE NOTE- a bracket has been used to strengthen one joint area (as shown in the photos). This joint is solid and strong and the bracket is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. This joint (and ALL other joints) have NO movement in it at all. The bracket could be removed when the desk is in place with no problems.
