LOVE this thing! Soooo cool. I’m considering it for myself. It has a great designer look. Incredible craftsmanship- this Minotti Still side table was made in Italy from 10 Stainless Steel disks, expertly welded together. It looks like it is made from mirrors / glass … but NO! This is 100% STAINLESS STEEL! This thing is going to last forever- it can’t chip, fracture or break- you’d have to throw it over a balcony or something and even then I think the concrete below would come off second-best. For a side table, this thing is as heavy as hell- difficult to move for one person but easy for two.
I’ve fallen in love with the designer look and simplicity of the idea. It’s a relatively simple concept but who would come up with such an idea? As it was so eloquently put on the Minotti Italy website- this is “design beyond design.” Yep- that sums it up! The way light plays along the surfaces is extraordinary … captivating. The interplay of reflections, the full and empty spaces hails of Baroque adulation but strangely the opposite is also true at the same time. The ornateness is a result of reflections- when there are no reflections, the piece is the epitome of minimalist modern design. This is a design triumph in the true sense of the phrase. This piece comes with the original Minotti cards to cement a really astute investment.
The Minotti Still (Mirror) table retails new at DEDECE for AU$3,344- the chances of finding one of these second-hand is basically zero. And at this price? Good luck!! A very smart investment that will retain it’s value at least whilst you get to enjoy and use it in your home.
This is a rare opportunity to own a design classic at a fraction of its real value. The beauty of investing in designer originals is knowing they will hold their value over time (or increase in value along with inflation- provided you look after them), plus you can be assured of the quality and durability you’re getting. There’s no better way to invest in your home and reduce landfill.
