Background Info and Provenance

(Written in 2014. This sofa sold for $1995 within a couple of weeks of being listed back in 2014. In 2019 I’d price the same piece at at least this today.

A Demir leather sofa in a brilliant design. This sofa retails for around $6000 today. (I have a receipt from when this sofa was first purchased back in 2006. It was over $4000 back then- that was a sale price as well.) Demir leather is a favourite of mine and this sofa is at the top of the line- pure luxury. The leather is soft, supple and of the highest quality. The cushioning is feather-down for soft spongy luxury. Demir Leather has developed a reputation over many years. Their luxury Italian-leather furniture is at pinnacle. In our modern world, leather is no longer leather. Why is it that some leathers completely disintegrate in a matter of years while others stand up to 50 years of constant use and still look amazing? Like everything these days- the quality varies markedly. Demir leather lasts. Demir leather is soft and luxurious. Look at the sofa on offer here 8 years on.

I love the design equally as much as the quality. The piece has been designed to lie all over- it’s kinda like a day bed but much more luxurious. The proportions are generous and it’s easy to put your feet up under you. This curved design is stunning. It’s stylish and understated but also a statement piece. Imagine this on the floor of a warehouse apartment!

Demir Leather is a business about developing a lasting relationship with their customers- they go against the throw-away mentality of today that’s fast destroying our people and our earth’s resources. Investing in furniture that has already stood the test of time is one of the best ways to invest in your home and reduce landfill.
