This Westnofa rocking chair sold through iNVISeDGE for $1295 back in 2005. Today if I got the same piece I’d price it at around $1695 – $1795. I’ve never come across another one in Australia for the full 18 years I’ve been in this business.

Provenance and Background Info

A stunning rocking chair produced by WESTNOFA of NORWAY in the 1970’s. This is a stand-alone piece of design of one of Westnofa’s best- its graceful fluidity and simple but striking form makes the chair a work of art. In my opinion this is one of the best designs to come out of the 1970’s anywhere worldwide- it’s the epitome of stunning but functional design. SUMPREMELY COMFORTABLE, this chair will certainly become your most-loved chair at home but in the right space would cap off a stunning interior. In a bare corner, you couldn’t find a more interesting piece but at the same time it doesn’t scream for attention. I have never seen one of these chairs before (not even a photo of one) so it’s certainly RARE and offers very solid investment appeal. This chair has two Westnofa tags with “Made in Norway” on it which vouches for the quality and esteem of the piece. It’d be about 30 years old already- there’s no reason why you couldn’t expect another 30 years use from it at least. Constructed from bent timber and finished with the HIGHEST quality FULL-GRAIN LEATHER, you won’t find anything more luxurious and unique. If you decide you’d like a change later you can’t go wrong re-selling this piece in the future but honestly once you own it, I can’t see you wanting anything else again. Why buy an inferior piece that will end up as landfill in a matter of years when you can get a vintage piece that shouldn’t lose any value as you get to enjoy it?
