This PAIR of chairs sold for $575 THE PAIR back in 2007. (About $300 each.) These days in 2018 if I got the exact same pair of chairs I’d price them at about $750 THE PAIR. PAIRS in this design are quite hard to get and highly sought after.

Provenance and Background Info

The best PAIR of side or carver chairs ever done by PARKER Furniture- this PAIR were crafted in Australia (in the early to mid 1960’s) and are some of PARKER’s most graceful work. A courtesy glance over the photos is all that’s needed to be sure of the superior design qualities of this pair. These carver chairs are exquisite and their sculptural elegance draws attention above and beyond basically any other carver dining chairs made in Australia during the era. This pair could be used and displayed anywhere around the home and then pulled into a dining table whenever extra chairs are needed. They’d work with any dining suite in this Scandinavian style and fit well under each end of a dining table. These chairs are inspired by the work of the legendary Danish designer, Finn Juhl and I believe Parker Furniture really hit it- I am proud to say they were designed and produced by an Australian manufacturer. Australian furniture from this era is also starting to draw interest from overseas- these chairs give you a peek of why.
