This desk was sold in 2005 for $395. The handles are pottery with a cool 1950’s glaze. I’ve never seen anything like this piece before 2005 … or since (this blurb was written in 2018). The construction of this piece was brilliant- it may have been made by Summertone in Australia or one of the boutique furniture making firms of the era such as Jacob Rudowski or the Rosando Brothers or even an overseas maker- I really don’t know. Whether Australian or not if I got this exact piece today (in 2018) I’d price it at $650-$795 (probably more if I got evidence of who made it).
