(This PAIR of chairs sold in 2006 for $1800 the PAIR. These days in 2018 I would price the exact same PAIR at about $2500-$2795 the PAIR (possibly more if I get a definitive maker for them). They were professionally re-upholstered in a high-quality wool crepe when we got them. This iNVISeDGE buyer got a great investment.)

These are great chairs but after 17 years in this business I still don’t know the maker. They were certainly 1950’s (when Featherston was doing his Contour chairs), top-quality and very RARE. I’ve never come across this design since. I’m inclined to think they’re European but that’s a guess. Could be Australian by the likes of Jacob Rudowski, the Rosando Brothers, Dario Zoureff or one of the other boutique makers of the time. They were selected to be used in Home Beautiful magazine back in 2006 when I sold them. If you have any information on this design I’d be grateful to hear from you.
