Background Info and Provenance
Very cool salvaged ship’s spotlight / floodlight. (I have a matching PAIR priced separately.) These authentic vintage pieces have become so popular in recent years that similar replicas made from cheap flimsy metals are now coming out of China. This piece is very HEAVY and solid. It has all the marks and bumps you’d expect of an authentic vintage piece- real antique character. The wiring is there but the plug has been cut-off. It’s a simple job for an electrician to get working again. I’ve seen these mounted on top of a stand converted into a floor lamp. It’s very heavy though- I think it’s perfect to have on a table or a display stand /plinth. It is very stable on any flat surface (it would be nearly impossible to knock over because it’s so heavy).
After online research I have been able to ascertain that this pair of antique ships spotlights / lamps were made in the art deco era (circa-1940’s). They have great antique appeal. They are fully adjustable- they swivel plus they tilt up and down, making them really practical. As part of an upmarket lighting display in a seafood restaurant or the like, this pair would add vintage NAUTICAL character in a memorable way that would forever intrigue customers. Overall these antique ship's lamps / spotlights are both in excellent vintage condition. They are from the art deco era- approximately 80 years old (written in 2023). They are in original condition- I love the authentic antique patina- they show all the hallmarks of a used and loved pair but without any unsightly abuse- this vintage pair of ship's spotlights / floodlights look great as they are (no need to polish them up). Antique Ship's Spot light. Measurements. The cord is about cm in length. The dome lamp section has a diameter of about cm. The height of the lamp in the photos was cm in total (BUT THEY ARE ADJUSTABLE- if tilted forward or back the height would be reduced). FOR FREIGHT- X 0 X 0. = 0. cubic metres. If you live over 25km away from the item, delivery will be AROUND $120 but it depends on various factors such as access issues and when you can receive the item. Sydney is a little more expensive compared to Brisbane (as another example) . . . . . . . “Normal” INTERSTATE DELIVERY (eg. Brisbane to Sydney OR Melbourne to Sydney) is generally about $250 for ONE standard-sized item (eg. a 3.5-seater sofa or a set of 6 dining chairs but it can depend on various factors. Sometimes it will be cheaper- $250 is about the average. Smaller items are less than $250. If you have a really big sofa (as an example) it will usually be around $280.
