The listed price is for all 6 chairs. We also have a matching PARKER extension dining table which is priced SEPARATELY. We are keen to keep this matching Parker suite together but will entertain offers for either part of the suite.
LOCATION- being sold under consignment by a private seller in ADELAIDE (not far from the city). I personally inspected this suite and photographed it.
Background Information & Provenance

A set of 6 dining chairs made by Parker Furniture in Sydney, Australia in the late-1960’s or early-1970’s. (The matching table is priced separately.) When teamed with the pictured oval Parker table, this is one of the most stunning dining suites iNVISeDGE has ever had … all-class. The chairs have a simplicity that really works with this table. They allow the Scandinavian elegance of the table to take the attention. The table is all curves and elegance- the chairs are simple and tidy. The two colours marry together perfectly as well. The timber has a pop of colour- the upholstery of the chairs does too but in a contrasting colour. The suite has an interesting look but is not over-the-top. It would work in virtually any interior.
This suite was made in Australia in the late-1960’s / possibly early-1970’s. For something that’s about 55 years old, it presents incredibly well (the condition is not perfect but for a dining suite that’s fully original, the condition is pretty incredible.)
I love the fabric on the chairs- the tonal variations gives depth and interest- the colour is perfect. Black would have been too bold, white would have made the suite look sterile. This blue tone, gives the suite personality and allows the timber in the table to be the hero. The chairs are simply supporting the table and allowing its elegance to shine.
Apart from the looks, the design comes up trumps for comfort as well. Notice the generous curve in the back. This cradles you perfectly. The padded seats add to the comfort- these are some of the most comfortable dining chairs Parker ever did and one of my personal favourites. Some of Parker’s designs are very sculptural and this can make a full dining suite look busy and over-stated. (There is too much to see.) This design on the other hand is simple, refined, stylish.
This design is VERY hard to get and with the PARKER stamps and satin labels, the investment appeal is obvious. Chairs in this style have constantly increased in value for the full 23 years I’ve been in this business and there’s no reason why this won’t continue. They have a timelessness that’s not subject to trends. After the majority of modern dining chairs end up as landfill, this vintage Parker dining suite will be passed on to a new custodian and then the next generation. There’s no better way I can think of to invest in your home and the future of our environment.

Overall this FULL set is in amazing original condition for the age (late-1960's / early-1970's). The suite is about 55 years old and every chair presents very well. Use the Magnifying Tool to get close and personal with this suite. EVERY chair has been shown up close. Click on the Magnifying Glass to enlarge the image- then click on the image again to super-size it. The frames are all solid and sturdy with NO breaks, NO movement in any joint area, NO cracks in any joint area (nothing of the sort). The upholstery is wool and overall looks amazing for a suite of this age. 4 of the chairs are in incredible condition for chairs of this age- one of those chairs has 2 small faded areas (where the sun came in through a window I suspect). This is hard to notice. 2 of the chairs show use but as a full suite, this is pretty hard to spot. One has about 6 tiny holes away from areas where wear would normally start to form. This indicates it's a result of clothing (like studs on jeans etc). None of the chairs are threadbare. This chair could be darned in those spots and I think this work well (though it's not really noticed anyway). The final chair is much the same but has more tiny holes. The fabric weave is starting to weaken as this chair has been used a lot- you have to get VERY close to this chair to notice this though. The back of that chair is a bit grubby too but again this has to be pointed out to be noticed. There's nothing that's noticed when the full set of 6 chairs are on display and certainly nothing when the chairs are pushed under the table. You might just get another 55 years of use out of the fabric particularly if the 2 chairs that have had more use are used more sparingly from now on. The fabric is thick and hard-wearing. Every chair has a PARKER stamp underneath and 2 chairs have the original satin label that was mainly used in the late-1960's. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The timber on all chairs may have a few minor surface marks and knocks but nothing that I noticed. The quality of the build is second to none- Parker is a highly respected brand synonymous with quality. The table is in incredible condition for its age. This table is in fully original condition- it hasn't even been ever polished. I'd say it has ALWAYS been used with a table-cloth and perhaps a table-cloth was instu all the time. This original finish is beautiful- when early Parker tables have been re-finished there is normally a harsh shine- the shine becomes what's noticed first. This table has a very subtle sheen to it- it's the Scandinavian style that's immediately noticed, not the shine. How this finish is achieved I'm not entirely sure- most Parker tables have been re-finished by now making this a rare treat. This table has one or two VERY feint movement lines on the top. They are VERY feint and only seen when you closely inspect the top at a certain angle. They're NOT from normal use. I'd say this table has had one owner and was in the same dining room for the life of the suite and this occurred when it was moved out. I'd say it was put into a vehicle on its top and there was a bit of grit on the blanket it rested on. It's not easy to see and during normal use is not noticed. The table otherwise is as close to perfect as you could possibly expect for a suite of this age. I believe the table also has the PARKER ink stamp on it- I can get this checked if needed. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The table measures- 120cm diameter unextended. 176cm extended. Table height- 72.5cm. (Width extended- 120cm.)
These chairs measure 47.5cm across, seat depth is 42.5cm. This design has a total height of 78cm. Seat height is about 44cm. FREIGHT- approx. cbm all up for all 6. Read my 1200+ feedback comments on ebay to be assured that these chairs are exactly as described and that I will not stock items unless they are in excellent condition.
