Description
Pick-up from NEW FARM, Brisbane is preferred. I’d post it as well but it will be awkward to box up and protect in the post so the boxing fee will be more than normal. (It’s very bottom heavy- the base weighs about 2.5kg.) We regularly visit an electrical store and take away their packing materials before it ends up as landfill!
Background Info and Provenance
A stunning anodised desk or bedside table lamp. It could also be used as an ambience lamp in your living room. I tried to find out more about this lamp but have given up. I think it might be about 25 years old. It has some age to it. I can’t find any like it online. It’s similar to the highly collectable Planet lamps from the 50’s but I think looks much nicer. I love the shape of the stylish base and shade and anodised pieces are so stunning. The colour is also perfect in my eyes. It’s a warm copper colour that would work in famously with any earthy colour scheme.
What I love most is that the arm swivels around 180 degrees on the stand. As a bedside lamp it’s quick and easy to swivel the top across to your book. It is also adjusts easily in height. The base is weighted so it can’t be knocked over. It’s a durable, well-built piece and will continue to stand the test of time.

This lamp is in excellent condition overall- it’s been well looked after. The anodised finish displays really well overall but it does have a few minor signs of use. These have been photographed. These minor flaws don't stand out- the piece looks great as a whole. The base is weighted so it sits very solidly on a table and can't be knocked over. The arm swivels around 180 degrees on the stand. The spring-loaded arm adjusts easily in height. The light-dome was originally fixed at the top of the stand. It's actually much easier to use this way. To move it you simply swing the arm around instead of trying to fiddle around with the top. I prefer the look of it this way as well. When the light-dome was fixed at the top of the stand it looked a bit odd- the proportions were wrong or something ... top heavy ? It's a well-balanced piece like it is now. As shown in the photos it's in perfect working order (the inline switch works perfectly) but with all vintage electrics I need to state it's your responsibility to have it professionally checked prior to use. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Anodised lamp. This is a sizable piece. The height adjusts- at "normal" height it's about 58cm high. It can adjust right down so that the top sits on the table. At it's tallest it's 95cm high to the top of the stand. The diameter of the circular base is 20cm. Weight- approx 2840 grams. It's a heavy solid piece. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

PICK-UP . . . from 30 or 40 minutes North of BRISBANE city is accepted but postage is preferred as my home is hard to find. Because of this I will nominate a friend or family member for you to collect the item from if you need collection. Pick-up in person must be worked out prior to purchase- thank you. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ POSTAGE is offered internationally. All our Decorative Arts pieces are delivered through AUSTRALIA POST. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ POSTAGE ESTIMATES. . . . ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ To BRISBANE- most of our pieces cost $15 - $18 to send. . . To SYDNEY or MELBOURNE- Small Vase- around $20 - $23, Medium Vase- around $20 - $25, Large Vase- around $24 - $30. Let us know if you need an EXACT COST for postage prior to purchase. The above postage estimates include $2.95 for a signature on delivery. . . INSURANCE against being lost or broken in transit up to the value of $200 is included in the estimates above. If your vase is cheaper or more expensive than $200 this will effect your postage fee slightly. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A BOXING FEE of $3.00 is included in the fee above to cover the cost of searching for and storing used packing materials. With the millions of cardboard boxes that end up as landfill every year we don’t believe in supporting the manufacture of boxes for post. Instead of buying new boxes and packing materials and passing this cost onto our customers we spend considerable time sourcing used boxes and then fashioning boxes to fit each item. We do the same for bubble-wrap and foam pieces. This requires a large investment of time, energy, ingenuity, organization and storage space- it is much easier and cheaper to buy new packing materials but I can’t justify taking the easy way out when so much packing material ends up polluting our earth. Our $3.00 charge does little to pay for the time (and storage) needed do this and to pack your item (there is also the time needed to get your package to the post office). This is something we’re happy to do for our customers and the environment. We appreciate your support in this area.
