Background Info and Provenance

A nude lady table lamp from the art deco period. This an AUTHENTIC ART DECO piece- made around the 1940’s (GUARANTEED). Every aspect of its construction confirms its original. There have been copies done of this iconic design- obviously the originals provide very strong investment appeal. If this design is still popular over 60 years later the appeal will be everlasting. Values of these should increase with inflation and probably beyond inflation as they will only get harder to buy as the years pass. The mottled-textured glass from the 1940’s is distinctive of that era and is getting increasingly hard to get. This deco pane of glass strengthens the investment appeal of this antique piece.

The lamp-base is cast metal. I’m not sure what the metal is. It appears to be silver-plated as it shows green aging. This piece would polish up easily in a few minutes but I love the aged appearance so have left it as is. The plug and cord is the same as other deco lamps I’ve had in the past. Also the light fitting section is bakerlite which went out of production in the 1940’s or 50’s.

I love the presence of this lamp. It certainly gets attention and its deco provenance is obvious the second you look at it. There are similar pieces around but many look cheap. (Interestingly the copies are not that cheap to buy). This is the real deal- the quality is brilliant. Look at it 60-odd years on.

This piece will be passed on from one generation to the next. After most modern pieces have ended up in the bin this piece will still be doing what it was designed to do. There are very few better ways to invest in your home and in the environment.
