Background Info and Provenance
This is one of the larger waterfall chandeliers made in Murano, Italy. It is gold-plated and has two matching wall sconces- which I have never seen offered anywhere. There are 68 drops in purple and pink on the chandelier and a further 18 drops on the wall sconces in purple, pink, and clear glass. The drop colours are a rare combination and go perfectly with the blush and brass colours so on trend at the moment. I see this set in a plush ensuite or powder room, an entrance hall, or split up in a dining room with the chandelier over the table and the wall sconces over the fireplace or buffet. Given the absolute beauty and iconic nature of this set, it would be a statement piece anywhere and an astute investment for the future.

This set is in excellent original condition with minimal rust on the top of the fitting - unseen from below - and none on the wall sconces. This patina is desirable as it verifies it is a vintage original and you're buying the real thing. This Murano chandelier has been re-wired for Australian homes. Buyers should note that the wires that hold the crystal / glass drops onto the metal arms are original and very fragile. Care should be taken when assembling the chandelier to bend these wires as little as possible as they will snap easily and once snapped cannot be repaired (and need to be replaced). The chandelier will be shipped disassembled but the small crystals will be left intact on top of the glass drops so disturbance to the wires on the drops is minimised. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The chandelier is approximately 50 cm long and 50 cm in diameter. It can be hung flush to the ceiling or hung with up to 60cm of chain. There is currently 30cm of chain between the chandelier and the gallery (the piece that sits on the ceiling). An extra 30cm of chain will be supplied with the consignment. The wall sconces are 20cm wide by 20cm long and 14cm deep (off the wall). This measurement includes the length of the drops.
