Background Info and Provenance

A beautifully-detailed ceramic cat crafted in Italy by Arrigo Bellini back in the 1960’s. The piece is beautifully done with a nice stylised shape and hand-painted motifs as decoration. There’s a lot of work in this piece- this work has been done by an expert at the height of his game. The piece retains the original MADE IN ITALY exporters paper-label from the 1960’s. The type on the label has faded significantly over the last 55 or so years which is what you’d expect. It’s still perceptible though, vouching for the provenance and history of the piece.

These pieces are not common- they’re harder to find than Bitossi pieces, are from the same era and have just as much work in them. I consistently see them pieced at around AU $400 to AU $500 on an international platform, making this one an extremely astute investment. Bellini ceramics still operates to this day, situated in the picturesque territory of Chianti, within Tuscany. The firm was founded back in 1946 by the late, Arrigo Bellini. His sense of colour, design and feeling for the export market, guided the firm into recognition throughout the world. His daughter, Sara Bellini, continues the family tradition today.

This beautiful ceramic piece from the 1960’s is just as popular day as it ever was, already passing onto a new generation- it will only become more valued in years to come. This piece exudes hand-crafted charm- a reminder of times gone-by that are fast becoming lost in our modern world. Investing in vintage hand-crafted objects is a great way to bring soul and life-energy into your home plus reduce landfill / your carbon footprint.
