Background Info and Provenance

A cased vase HAND-CREATED in the early 1970’s by highly-acclaimed Italian artist, Carlo Moretti. This piece is HAND-SIGNED near the bottom by Carlo Moretti and also has the original vintage LABEL. It exhibits an outstanding level of workmanship and creative flow. It has all the fun and exuberance of a street carnival. Groups of art-glass in orange are stunning and this Moretti piece becomes a subtle focus for an orange group.
This is a Murano piece though not something that might normally come to mind when Murano glass is mentioned. Carlo Moretti was born in Murano, worked his whole life in Murano and died there in 2008. Carlo Moretti glass is somewhat an institution. It was opened in 1958 and the factory is still operating to this day (under different leadership today). Over the past 60 years Carlo Moretti has been awarded numerous prizes and international awards and has been invited to hold conferences in art institutions worldwide. His work has found its way into many important international museums. Moretti explored the white-cased glass concept in the early 1970’s. Some of these items were given a Moretti label which were often removed by buyers after they bought them. I’VE NEVER SEEN ONE HAND SIGNED BY MORETTI so this one is particularly special.
This type of thing is virtually never found in Australia. I’ve never seen one like it. Carlo Moretti has international collectors appeal. But at the end of the day if you’re going to invest in art it has to speak to you and inspire you. This HAND-MADE piece has already inspired for around 40 to 50 years and after much modern home décor has ended up as landfill it will be passed onto another generation. I believe there’s no better way to invest in your home and our environment.

PICK-UP . . . from 30 or 40 minutes North of BRISBANE city is accepted but postage is preferred as my home is hard to find. Because of this I will nominate a friend or family member for you to collect the item from if you need collection. With the millions of cardboard boxes that end up as landfill every year we don’t believe in supporting the manufacture of boxes for post. Instead of buying new boxes and packing materials and passing this cost onto our customers we spend considerable time sourcing used boxes and then fashioning boxes to fit each item. We do the same for bubble-wrap and foam pieces. This requires a large investment of time, energy, ingenuity, organization and storage space- it is much easier and cheaper to buy new packing materials but I can’t justify taking the easy way out when so much packing material ends up polluting our earth. Our $3.00 charge does little to pay for the time (and storage) needed do this and to pack your item (there is also the time needed to get your package to the post office). This is something we’re happy to do for our customers and the environment. We appreciate your support in this area.
We accept DIRECT BANK DEPOSIT. We send photographic ID of the store owner (Michael Grealy) to all customers at the point of sale, along with media articles about iNVISeDGE with photos of Michael Grealy in them (most of these articles are about 10 years old). Your payment will be paid into an Australian ANZ bank account under the name Michael Grealy (or iNVISeDGE).
