DESCRIPTION BELOW

If you have a similar item to sell AND YOU’RE A DEALER (you have an antique shop or market stall) I’d be very happy to list an item of this callibre online in iNVISeDGE (for around $700). NO COMMISSION FEE- you just pay us what you feel when you’ve had a good week. We will work at bringing new clientele into your shop or to your market stall. We’d need about 10 photos from all angles- your photos would have to be about as good as those shown in this listing. (Read our blog on how to take good furniture photos if you need pointers.) If you don’t have a shop and you’re a dealer, we’d also stock at item like this online in iNVISeDGE, we’d find an online buyer for you and take control of the sales process on your behalf- in this case our commission fee would be 15%. Again we’d need about 10 good photos from various angles- at least as good as those shown in this listing. Also if you were the buyer of this exact piece and would like to sell it now, we’d be happy to represent it again on your behalf.

An English Oak mosaic tile-top coffee table that came off a recent shipment from Denmark. I know little about this table except that it’s a ONE-OFF designer piece. The tile-top has been expertly pieced together with mosaic tiles BY HAND. I don’t know who the artist is but the piece reflects a high level of technical skill- the background tiles have been pieced together in a series of rhythmic waves that make the cranes appear to fly across the top. The cranes are as lithe as dancers and this creates a piece that’s almost poetic in essence.

To me it appears as the though this table is 1940’s, but that’s an estimation. I’ve seen nothing like it in Australia before so I’m only guessing. Close inspection of the piece when I first got it made me certain it was at least 40 years old but whether its 90 years old or 40 is a guess. The table has been solidly made from Oak and after all these years it’s structurally very solid.

This table would set off any space- it’d be amazing in a minimalist designer interior but would look great anywhere. It does need space to breathe- it’s a statement piece- it doesn’t scream for attention but still needs space. (It’s also big for a coffee table.) Unfortunately our apartment is too small to do it justice otherwise I would have kept it myself.

This is certainly a piece to be handed through the generations. When other coffee tables have ended up as landfill, this table will still be doing exactly was it was designed to do … but to serve as a coffee table is just half the story. This piece was also created to mesmerise and draw you in to the dancing of the cranes. It has been made BY HAND so is not only a smart investment piece but the most environmentally-friendly coffee table you can buy.
