Background Info and Provenance

A stunning DANISH armchair or side chair from the early 1960’s by Frem Rojle of Denmark. In my opinion this piece is about 40 years old. It’s a stunning piece with its sculptural elegance and refined styling. What I like most about this chair is the superior construction quality- (the best you can get really and why Danish furniture is so highly-respected). The frame is crafted of teak, the seat section- moulded plywood and the upholstery- the highest quality wool (I’m virtually certain this is a fine weave wool). The upholstery has withstood about 40 years of use and still looks amazing (written in 2007). The plywood seat also negates the need to ever have to replace webbing (which is often needed for chairs of this age). This vintage chair is a strong solid piece and could be used and displayed anywhere around the home and pulled into the dining table whenever an extra chair is needed- it’d look great in a bedroom corner or even in the lounge room of a small apartment as a feature chair or desk chair. If you’re after a single chair to complete your space you’d be hard pressed to find better. The chair is branded (FREM ROUJLE- Made in Denmark) guaranteeing its construction quality and future resale value. Frem Rojle is a highly respected Danish brand and their vintage items are highly sought-after.
