International freight is a possibility- I don’t know the best options at this point but it would be viable to get these overseas. I’d prefer an Australian buyer but if someone overseas is going to do at least as much work as me to get them overseas I will work with you. I’m not sure of the cost and would ONLY make enquiries on your behalf AFTER you’ve committed and made a sizeable deposit to secure the chairs.
Freight Australia-wide is easy. I’d say it’d be about $220 to get these 6 chairs to Sydney.

A stunning set of 6 saddle-leather chairs made in Italy by Flexform. These chairs have the word “Flexform” branded into the leather under each chair. They retail new for around the same price as Cassina Cab chairs ie. Approx. AU $13,000 for a set of 6! Called the Carlotta, they were designed by Antonio Citterio (of B & B Italia fame) in 1997. Cassina Cab chairs consistently sell second-hand for more than AU $6000 for a set of six. Our Flexform chairs are a mere fraction of this- priced to give our buyer a very strong investment. And once they’re gone, I doubt you’ll see a set ever again. At the time of writing I found NO SECOND-HAND sets for sale anywhere in the world!
It’s the quality that stands-out most for me. The saddle-leather is THICK and of exceptional quality. The stitching is also meticulous. These chairs are 20 years old and just look at them! Ready for a lifetime of use and enjoyment. The metal looks like stainless steel to me. It has no corrosion or aging at all- and the satin-look really suits the sinewy design. And that’s the other thing I love about these- they have a flow that draws you in but they’re still refined and sophisticated. Many designer pieces are brash and hit you in the face- these are more restrained which means they’ll be easy to put in any space. I purchased them from a top interior designer who used them to style high-end properties for sale- when you see the interior photo you’ll notice how they anchor your eye in the space- you’ll also immediately notice the rest of the interior- the marble, earthy flooring PLUS you’ll also notice the stunning view outside all at once. It’s hard to get 6 chairs that can strike that careful balance instead of just dominating your interior.
The partnership between Flexform and Antonio Citterio has endured for 40 years. The brand itself, over 60 years (at the time of writing- 2020). The Galimberti family has been at the helm of Flexform since its inception. The company was initially established as a small workshop and after just a few years, the transition from artisan to industrial production occurred- first exporting to Europe and then quickly the rest of the world. In Australia, Fanuli has retailed Flexform designs and still does to this day. Flexform has just one production plant, in Meda, near Milan, Italy where everything is manufactured and locally sourced to a meticulous standard that has earned Flexform their reputation of international status. Flexform graces some of the most beautiful spaces in the world, from hotels in Arabia to Australian lofts to American penthouses.
Durability, a timeless but graceful design, enduring quality, solid INVESTMENT appeal which leaves us with practicality and comfort. Saddle-leather is a great choice for dining chairs- any spills are easy to wipe off and the inherent durability of saddle-leather needs little upkeep- a clean with a good leather cleaner (particularly in the Summer months) and a quick wipe over with a quality leather conditioner every now and then and these will keep looking like this for another generation (or more). The comfort is also great for dining chairs- nice and high for good back support. Saddle-leather also has nice “give” for extra comfort.
After most modern chairs have ended up as landfill, this exceptional quality set of 20-year-old chairs will be passed onto another owner and very likely future generations! There’s no better way to help protect our environment and reduce your carbon footprint but it’s also the smartest furniture investment from a financial standpoint I can think of. I value these chairs at more than this price already so I see no reason why this vintage set won’t increase in value over the years as you get to enjoy using them. Buying vintage furniture is arguably the best way to buy furniture (I doubt there could be any argument on that- in my opinion it’s fact).
