Background Info and Provenance
A solid brass floor candelabra. This is over 2 metres tall. It’s very heavy making it stable on the floor. Candles give any room a nice ambience- this is the safest candelabra I’ve ever come across. The top section is not only decorative but flat and wide. This gives your candles a solid surface to rest upon and because the piece is so heavy the chances of knocking over a candle is virtually zero plus this plate catches the candle wax- it’s a beautiful AND practical piece.
There are not many floor candelabras around. This would be because they’d be so expensive to make. SOLID brass is not cheap. Most modern-day candelabras are NOT brass at all but plated to look like brass- they’ll end up rusting and looking shabby pretty quickly. This brass piece is ANTIQUE or VINTAGE- it has age to it. It will look like this forever. I’ve had problems placing its age as I can’t find any other brass candelabras online even remotely like this one. I’d say it’s Italian and I guarantee it’s at least 40 years old but it could be as old as 100 years old. The piece has great antique character.
I’ve also had problems trying to put a price on it. You won’t find one like this again- brass floor candelabras are few and far between. The cheapest brass vintage floor candelabra I came across was $978 USD. (About AU $1400). There were also several I came across for about AU $3000 each- one sold at around that price.
After modern offerings in plated metal have rusted and ended up as landfill this vintage SOLID BRASS piece will be passed onto yet another generation telling more stories as it goes. There’s no better way to invest in your home and reduce landfill.

This vintage brass candelabra is in excellent condition with no damage to report. It definitely has age to it- NOT NEW but presents very well. The patina is natural and authentic unlike the simulated patina you sometimes see on new pieces coming out of China these days.
