THE TABLE SOLD IMMEDIATELY THROUGH iNVISeDGE FOR $2500 back in 2011. These days in 2018 I’d price the exact same table at $2895. I haven’t seen a table like this that extends to seat up 14 people ever since (2018). 

An extension teak dining table that extends to a total length of 346cm (can also be extended to 285cm). This is the longest dining table I’ve stocked in the 10 years I’ve been in this business. The second largest was almost one metre shorter than this. This table can comfortably seat 14 guests however for family gatherings (or if you’re close to your friends) you could squeeze in 16 chairs. This table was custom-made specifically for the client I bought it from. He did a lot of work from home on the dining room table and liked to entertain lots of friends so got a table made specifically for his needs (after being unable to find what he wanted in the shops). It was CUSTOM-MADE by Original Finish in Newtown, Sydney. My estimation of the original cost is well over $7500 back in 2004 (estimate to replace it now would be over $10 000). Original Finish is highly esteemed- visit their website to see further evidence of this. This table is constructed from SOLID TIMBER panels and has been expertly made. There is no veneer on this piece which is very rare in a dining table. This means it’s more durable than basically any dining table you can buy. Solid timber furniture is easy to restore and with normal use this table will last a lifetime (or several). I love the patterning in the timber panels that run up the entire length of the table.

This table separates into four parts which makes moving it a breeze. It’s possible for one person to move the entire table on their own- this is another aspect of the design that’s clever and practical.

This is a piece that’s difficult to let go of as I doubt I’ll find one like it again. (People rarely part with pieces like this- the original owner is moving overseas for work.) This table has been built to last and can be sanded back as many times as you want- it’s a very solid investment. It will always hold strong re-sale value because the massive size and quality is so rare- bring it back to me if you ever need to sell it, I’d be happy to see it again. When other tables have ended up as landfill this one will continue to be loved for doing exactly what it was designed to do. There’s no better way of investing in your home and our environment.
