I love everything I sell these days but these have really grabbed me. The gold-leaf finish is opulent and stunning! The shape of the frames is eye-catching but not over-the-top and that mix of gold and black gives the pair a classy, luxurious style. Stocked by the prestigious, James Said boutique in Paddington, Sydney, this design is no longer in stock- don’t want to miss these!
This pair of chairs sold for $5,000 THE PAIR back in 2017. With inflation, that’s more in today’s values, making this an astute INVESTMENT opportunity. These couldn’t be made anywhere for the price we’ve got on these. Plus, the durability is incredible. The frames are SOLID and HEAVY- I can’t see anything happening to the structure of these chairs EVER. Plus the velvet is thick and hard-wearing.
Why spend thousands on designer furniture that will lose value in the thousands the second you buy them? If you’re sensible with these, I can’t see them losing any value.
Comfort also comes up trumps here. The chairs hold you confidently- the angles are perfect for sitting comfort. These have the perfect mix of support and plushness. The cushioning is the very best quality, dense and aids the comfort.
After flashy “designer” furniture of today has ended up as landfill, this DURABLE design classic will be passed onto yet another appreciating generation. There’s no better way that I can think of to invest in your home and the future of our environment.

As the photos show, both chairs are in excellent condition. The construction is VERY solid- the frames are heavy and this is quality velvet- I can't see anything ever going wrong with this design. These chairs are HEAVY and really well built. The suite is strong and sturdy with NO cracks around any joint, NO movement or wobbles, NO breaks, NO repairs. This pair are about 8 years old so show minor signs of use but nothing that draws your eye. The gold leaf is wearing in areas (mainly around the edges where you'd expect this to occur). I've researched this at length and it's a really easy fix. You can buy gold-leaf online and there's heaps of types. I will leave it up to the buyer to buy some so they have a supply of the product for when the edges start to wear again. It's a quick, easy fix and would be really satisfying to do. I'd love to do it but these chairs are not at my home depot so it's more problematic to get done. It makes more sense for the buyer to do it anyway.
