Provenance and Background Info
(Written in 2018. This pair of chairs sold for $840 in 2011. Today in 2018 I’d price the exact same chairs at $995 to $1090.)
Arrrgghhhh! I can no longer find the description I wrote for these chairs back in 2011. I remember I went to considerable effort to research them because they are so unusual. All I can remember now is that they turned out to be Swedish (not by Thonet). Looking at them now I’d say they were probably done in 1940’s though the age for these is hard to classify because they’re so timeless in style. Items like this are a great investment (this pair has already increased in value since I sold them in 2011) plus buying items that are built to last reduces landfill and helps to protect our environment. There’s no better way to invest in your home.
