BUDGET BUY- I’ve seen restored, reupholstered Parker T-back chairs, for up to $880 EACH. iNVISeDGE price- around $270 EACH!!! These were restored about 6 years ago and have had virtually no use since then. The upholstery and timber present incredibly well. The cost of the professional restoration 6 years back was MORE than what we’ve priced these at.
LOCATION- being sold by a private seller in Breakfast Point, SYDNEY. I personally inspected this suite and photographed this set.
These are ORIGINAL Parker dining chairs. So well made- c. late-1970’s- they’re now about 45 years old! NO structural defects AT ALL. Every chair is as solid as a rock. Beautiful Danish aesthetic but made in Sydney, Australia. These have the QUALITY and the stylish elegance that made early Parker Furniture famous. This is one of Parker’s most popular designs- they were made through the 1960’s up until the early-1980’s. This set has labels with the year of production on them (either 1979 or 1980). Until seeing this design I didn’t realise they were being made for so long. Most were made in the 1960’s / early-1970’s.
This set were COMPLETELY RESTORED 6 years ago by Covemore Designs in Sydney- every chair is faultless (from a structural standpoint) and aesthetically they are in showroom condition (very lightly used). LOVE this upholstery choice! The lighter tone and subtle pop of colour means that the elegant shape takes centre-stage- not the upholstery. This is the nicest set of Parker T-back chairs I’ve ever seen. If you want to extend your set this is possible. This is an Australian design so they do come up- buy another set of 4 chairs to get a very rare set of 8. When the extension piece is employed this table can seat 8 people.
This Parker dining chair design is really comfortable too. Some of the most comfortable dining chairs Parker ever did. Some mid-century dealers are now selling some Parker dining chairs for $2,700 for a set of 4. These are a stunning set and a great investment for the budget conscious investor. After the majority of modern dining chairs end up as landfill, this vintage Parker suite will be passed on to a new custodian and then an entirely new generation. There’s no better way I can think of to invest in your home and the future of our environment.
