It would cost ABOUT $230 to freight this table to Sydney (to give you an idea of cost for interstate freight).
Since writing this listing we’ve discovered that this is a PARKER 140 Nordic extension table produced in Australia in the early 1960’s. We spotted the PARKER foil label from the early-1960’s on the underside after doing this listing. A photo of the label has been later added to our listing.

NOTE – we later discovered that this is a definitely PARKER table. Some of the listing below needs to be updated!
An interesting teak table made in the 1960’s. It very much has a Parker look to it- in fact the construction qualities shown in this one are exactly the same as a Parker table. I don’t think it was made by Parker though because the dimensions are so unusual. This one was made for a small apartment. It’s a compact little piece. If space is at a premium it could be the perfect piece for you. It accommodates 4 chairs in its compact state and when extended you could squeeze in 6 if you absolutely had to but the extension pieces have more been designed to provide plenty of space when you have 4 diners. (And if you’re in a small apartment this probably wouldn’t be often anyway, it has been built to take up as small a footprint as possible.)
As already mentioned the QUALITY is exactly the same as a Parker dining table. The solid teak that frames every edge is exactly the same same way Parker did their tables, the edges have even been rounded off in the same way Parker did it. The patterning in the timber is the same quality as a Parker dining table as well. It’s a classy little piece and is also in great condition. This one looks like it has never been restored- just incredibly well looked after. And that’s the other great bonus here- the original finish from the 1960’s is still in great condition.
This is a great investment piece. Teak items with this Danish aesthetic have been in high demand for at least 20 years. Values for vintage teak furniture have constantly appreciated over the years and this trend is set to continue. This table has already lasted 60 years and if you look after it, it’s set to passed onto future generations. There’s no better way I can think of to invest in your home and reduce landfill.
