In Australia, these chairs retail new at SPACE Furniture for around $15,000 depending on the actual chair you’re buying (the upholstery choice/s etc) and where you are.

Easily one of the best chairs we’ve ever had in over 22 years of trading (if not the best) the “Grand Repos” is a design triumph. Combining a stunning shape with the recliner feature, this chair takes comfort and design pizzazz to a new level. I’ve never seen a designer chair that boasts such an incredible shape that also reclines. The comfort on offer here is next-level. My vendor wanted a chair that popped but he said this choice was ALL about the comfort. After investigating designer chairs for some time he decided this was easily THE most comfortable designer chair on offer. The angles hold you in perfect seating position but when the recliner feature is employed the Grand Repos wing chair can be locked in any position, for optimum back support and utmost comfort at any reclining angle. Want a comfortable sitting swivel chair that you could also fall asleep in? Look no further- you won’t find anything better.
The characteristic head section not only looks amazing but invites the user to nestle back and feel a sense of shelter and seclusion. Even the location of the reclining lever has been very carefully considered here. Not only is it virtually concealed, it also looks like part of the chair design- just all class.
The “Grand Repos” was designed by Italian design great, Antonio Citterio in 2011. The design is so popular it’s still in production to this day- the leather versions now have a price tag of AU $17,000 (US $11,260) on them! (See the screenshot). The chair on offer here was purchased at SPACE Furniture soon after the design was released- this one is about 10 years old and still presents extremely well (as shown in our photos). It has been well looked after.
A triumph in design and an immediate sensation, this chair has been sold the world over, but when they’re at approx. AU$17,000 a pop, they have not been sold in large quantities. Ever lusted over this design and thought it an impossible dream? Here’s your opportunity. And if I said, it’s your one-and-only opportunity, I’d say it wouldn’t be a lie either. The investment appeal of the chair on offer here is obvious. I doubt that Vitra could even make this chair for double this price! And this chair is labelled and includes the Vitra “Care Pack” provided when it was new. You want something that will at least hold its value whilst you get to use and enjoy it your home? I can’t see any reason why that wouldn’t happen with this offering. You want something that’s virtually as good as anything new, WITHOUT A LEAD TIME OF UP TO 6 MONTHS, look new further.
This is a rare opportunity to own a design classic for a fraction of its real value. The beauty of investing in designer originals is knowing they will hold their value over time (or increase in value along with inflation- provided you look after your items), plus you can be assured of the quality and durability you’re getting. There’s no better way to invest in your home and reduce landfill.
