The epitome of Hollywood Regency glamour, this vintage brass sheaf of wheat table has exceptional interior design appeal- this is one of the most stylish, elegant things we’ve ever had in iNVISeDGE (in about 22 years of trading). It’s certainly one of the most incredible pieces of design I’ve ever laid eyes on! Miss this and I strongly doubt you’ll come across another again. I wish I had space for a second coffee table- I’d be nabbing this INVESTMENT in a second! And yes, it certainly is an investment- not a purchase. Try finding another one of these in Australia for this price!

This rare and authentic Italian-made cocktail table was made by S. Salvadori in the 1950’s. One of these exact tables was given to Coco Chanel by Salvador Dali and was in pride of place in her salon in Rue Cambon in Paris. When these tables come up on the secondary market in Europe, they often have Coco Chanel in the title.

This table was purchased by the current owners from a gent in Melbourne who’s parents brought it to Australia from Europe when they emigrated after the war. It is extremely rare to see these in Australia – in fact, this is the only large example I have come across in over 20 years of trading. The current owners are only parting with it because of a change of circumstances.  The table top is not affixed to the base and can be easily changed to any other top of your choice.

This Italian wheat sheaf cocktail or coffee table from the Hollywood Regency / art deco era, features a round-glass top with bevelled edge, set upon a exceptionally well-designed and well-constructed sheaf of wheat metal base, with original gilt / brass finish. The finish is stunning- it has minor signs of age and patina (to add to it’s old-world appeal) but it still shines and is completely glamourous. This vintage brass table is perfect to use as a coffee table (or side table in a large space).

I love the flow of this Salvadori piece. It has real upwards movement- the base erupts upwards like a volcano or fireworks display… A cracker of a piece with all the glamour and sophistication of the art deco / early-1950’s era.

An obvious investment- this vintage-brass wheat sheaf coffee table is priced at WAY less than similar pieces worldwide- with freight costs, all those are priced at a LOT more than this. (We’re looking at a result within a 6-month timeframe, hence the low price.) See the screenshots for verification of value. This one is priced to sell giving the investor a no-brainer investment. Sell it in the future (the right way) and I can’t see how you could possibly lose.

This vintage S. Salvadori brass coffee table with sheaf of wheat detail has been incredibly well-designed and made so is not subject to trends. After mass-produced modern pieces have ended up as landfill, this vintage décor piece will be passed onto yet another generation. This piece is in excellent vintage condition overall with no condition issues. There are NO cracks, NO chips, NO splits, NO breakage, NO careless damage at all to the metal base or glass. The piece is vintage so may have some very minor signs of age and use but NOTHING at all that's unsightly (as our photos show). The condition is fully original. No chips or breaks on the metal or glass. Some minor losses to the metal gilding commensurate with age but this only adds to the patina and character.
